The goal was to create a luxuriously comfortable, eco-friendly living space that perfectly reflected their family’s lifestyle.
The challenge? Constructing a home to be 80% more efficient than the standard code during pandemic-driven material shortages and rising costs.
This custom Okanagan home perfectly blends thoughtful design and sustainable innovation. The structure’s orientation and window placements were intricately planned to maximize natural light and frame the breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and lake.
Every aspect, from the strategic overhangs for optimal sun exposure and shade control to the energy-efficient construction, is a nod to aesthetic and environmental consciousness.

The steep site conditions with exposed bedrock demanded an innovative approach to the foundation and architectural concrete walls. The build was further complicated by material shortages and extreme cost fluctuations due to the pandemic. Non-conventional sequencing and cadence were used to adhere to the carefully considered details from the designer.
A collective effort from all involved, including site staff, sub-trades, and consultants, ensured complex problems were broken down into manageable tasks, maintaining a no-compromise attitude on quality and service.
The result is a breathtaking home that seamlessly blends luxury with sustainability, exceeding expectations in both form and function. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, a strong collaborative effort from the Red Stag team, the homeowner, and the designer ensured the project was completed exactly as intended. The homeowners happily settled in their new home, a living part of Naramata’s captivating landscape.
